People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"-being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. So I’ll keep this dream close to my heart I walk toward whatever awaits me after spring Is this how I’ll eventually forget everything?Ĭherry blossoms drifted and fluttered in the air Time goes by and this town sees spring tooĮach day I make it through without you I grow up little by little I started a letter with the words, “I’m doing fine” I can hear your voice calling in my heart I can see this year’s cherry blossoms outside my window on the Odakyu line I’m eager to see what my blooming future holds Spring came to an end and we went our separate ways I search for those days on the cherry riverbank That was the bridge we used to cross in spring I saw something in my past from the train *Cherry blossoms drifted and fluttered in the air I doubt the English translation is copyrighted:)
